The second option my 9th graders could choose involved our perspective unit. In class we practiced 1-point perspective, drawing boxes and creating a room with different pieces of furniture. If students chose this option for the semester exam, they were required to show me that they remembered how to draw boxes using 1-point perspective, to create a street scene with at least 10 buildings (colored or shaded) and to reflect on what they learned about perspective this year. Apparently some of them must have learned something because this is how their street scenes turned out:
