Our second night on the salt flat tour we stayed right on the edge of the salt flats themselves…in a hotel made out of salt no less. Bricks of salt are formed and are then used for the walls of this hotel, as well as the beds (with a mattress on top), tables, chairs, etc. Pretty much the only thing not made out of salt was the bathroom!

Amazingly this was much warmer than our first night on the tour, although that may have also been due to the higher altitude the first night. We still tucked our sleeping bags under the blankets in our beds, but didn’t feel the need to put on every piece of clothing before crawling into them.
