Bongwon Temple

After our street food snacks and our stop at the Ewha Women’s University, we began our hike up Mount Ansan. Our first stop along the way was at a Buddhist temple that sits at the base of the mountain. It is similar in style to the one behind our house, but much larger.
We admired several different statue gardens.

And the garden of lotus flowers laid out in the courtyard area in front of the temple.

I didn’t get any pictures of the inside of the temple this time since there was a service going on. The temple was filled with people praying while a monk chanted into a microphone in the back. We peaked our around the doorway to see what was going on, but didn’t want to interrupt so headed on up the hill.
