Alex and I had never been to the Centro Historico at night before, but we had heard great things about how they light up the churches at night.
Each September, there is a race through the old part of town at night when all the churches are lit up so we decided to head down and check it out. We had originally planned to run in it, but it snuck up on us much too quickly so we were content to wander around, watch, and then have a drink on a rooftop bar overlooking the city. We even met up with another West High alum who recently moved to Ecuador!
And we definitely weren’t disappointed with how beautiful the churches look at night.
