We’ve encountered many signs, menus, and travel brochures in both Spanish and English in the last few weeks, but sometimes the use of google translator can make for a creative interpretation. Our favorite so far was on a menu in Potosí, Bolivia:
“3 pieces of moldy bread with tuna vandecamp and bad celery”
It took a bit to figure out that they were telling us the brand of tuna and that the word they used for pieces of celery can double as the word bad. We never did figure out why the bread was described as “molde”.
This menu also had the option to order stuffed icicles…not exactly sure how that works!
