El Verano

Wednesday’s the big day!
The day we depart on our longest trip yet….6 weeks through Northern Chile, Bolivia, and Peru.
Our tentative plans include such things as: sandboarding in the Atacama desert, visiting the Tatio geysers, photographing flamingos at Laguna Colorada, touring through the Bolivian salt flats, going in a silver mine in Potosi, staying at a brewhouse in La Paz, visiting the floating islands on Lake Titicaca, trekking the Inca Trail and marveling at Machu Picchu, watching condors soar over Colca Canyon, getting areal views of the Nazca lines, photographing Humboldt penguins in Pisco, sightseeing in Lima, and trekking the Cordillera Blanca near Huaraz.
The trip includes cameo appearances by Alex’s dad and my parents, aunt, brother and his gf. We are traveling with our friend Amanda and meeting up with hiking buddies Eric, Diana, and Wyatt for the trek in Huaraz.
It should be quite the adventure!
We are currently in the midst of organizing the house, trying to cram everything we could possibly need into two backpacks and making sure the cats have enough food and litter until we get back. We will do our best to post along the way, or at least update you on which country we happen to be in.
Have a fabulous summer everyone!
