We told ourselves we would wait until the furniture was finished being stained and lacquered, but we couldn’t quite hold out! We found out Friday that there is a humane society type of place here in Quito called PAE so we went to check it out yesterday and came home with these two cuties:
Alex picked out this little one. He was hoping for a boy because he wanted to call him Frijole, so now we are calling her Frijolita! She is tiny and doesn’t quite know how to do anything without her claws out yet. She also isn’t so good at the stairs….she can go up and down the first four and then starts to cry.
This little calico girl picked us. She came right over and sat on Alex’s shoe when we got there and then she plopped down on my lap as we looked at all the kitties they had. We still don’t have a name for her yet so help us out! We’d like something staying with the food theme and maybe something in Spanish. Leave us comments with your ideas!

I can't think of anything cuter than a pair of kittens. They will certainly make your apartment more lively. Can't come up with any good names. Here we seem to have a Disney theme going (Nani – from Lilo and Stitch and Gus-Gus – from Cinderella). What were the cats in Aristocats named?
Tommy would like to get a dog and name it Scooby-Doo. A cat named Scooby-Doo doesn't seem right.
