As part of the middle school’s Pi Day celebration a pie eating competition was held in the lunchroom. In case you haven’t figured it out yet, Alex is a huge fan of participating in things along with the kids so he was an obvious competitor for the pie eating contest.
Several teachers and over 10 students dug in to see who could eat the most the fastest! He did not place first or second (and the competition was cut off after that for the sake of everyone who was about to puke) and he felt pretty sick the rest of the day, but it was highly entertaining for those of us in the audience!

By the way, if you are looking at this picture and wondering why on earth the kid behind Alex is wearing a giant afro wig, I’m pretty sure it must be related to the fact that 6th graders were offered extra credit for dressing like Albert Einstein on Pi Day (also his birthday).
