As a last minute project before winter break, some of my seventh graders found time to complete this portrait project using the lyrics from their favorite song. I asked them to choose a school appropriate song and bring the lyrics in, then I printed off a picture of the singer, someone in the band, or an instrument someone in the band plays. The students traced the image and filled in the dark areas by printing the lyrics from the song they chose. The results turned out even better than the kids expected and now we have a variety of different musicians on display around the school! Click on a picture to see a larger version.
