This weekend we went to Punta Sal, a national park near Tela. Tela is the beach town about 1.5 hours from here so we took the bus up Friday night and headed out on the tour Saturday morning. The tour to Punta Sal starts with a boat ride to several different beaches, then there’s a hike through the jungle, snorkeling, and lunch on the reserve. The weather was beautiful and we had a great time, but by far the highlight of our trip was all the monkeys we saw! The trees at one of the beaches we stopped at were filled with howler monkeys!
A view through the jungle during our hike.
Alex got a picture of this giant spider on our walk through the jungle.
The round lighter shaped part on the left is the baby’s head.
These are the boats we rode in to get to Punta Sal. It is about a 45 minute boat ride each direction.
The boys trekked out to the point while Jenna and I slept on the beach. Here is the view they got looking back at us. If you zoomed in a lot you’d be able to see a very blurry version of us sleeping in the sand.
