Vocabulario-Chele

Chele = a nickname for someone who has light hair and/or skin.

One of my seventh graders has light brown hair (or blonde as the kids call it because it is lighter than their hair) and has thus acquired the nickname “Chele.” The students explained to me that this is a term that is mostly used in Central America and that Mexico has a different term to mean the same thing, “Güero.”
