Relámpago = Lightning

When teaching my seventh graders about different types of lines, they struggled with the word lightning, many of them needed a friend to translate the word in order to understand what type of line I wanted them to draw. So while they learned about “lightning” in English, I learned about “relámpago” in Spanish!
Good words to know along with relámpago are “tormenta” and “trueno.” You may see relámpago and hear trueno during una tormenta.
