I finally feel like I’m starting to get the hang of glaze around here!  Each year my Ceramics I students work on the wheel to create a set of mugs.  The first year our glaze was incompatible with our wheel throwing clay so none of the mugs were functional.  The second year I had three colors of glaze available for students to use after throwing their mugs.  This year I had a whopping 11 glaze options plus underglaze colors that they could use!  Wheel throwing is always a struggle (centering, pulling up the walls, etc) but now they have some pretty exciting color choices for the pieces they create.  Check it out:
