Alex’s mom got us a folding solar panel with a USB port last year.  We took it to Africa with us last Christmas and used it every single day on Zanzibar!  Here it is hanging from the balcony of our room, using all that awesome power from the sun to charge up our external battery.  It was especially handy since we were reading all of our books on the iPad and the Kindle so we were running through power pretty quickly.
