After a change in scheduling this year, I now have my 6th grade students for then entire year instead of just 9 weeks at a time. The added class time has provided lots of opportunities for bringing back some of my favorite projects that we just didn’t have time for over the last two years…like the aluminum armor project and this architecture project that I also taught in Honduras and Ecuador. The students researched a variety of different architectural styles and then designed unique buildings with lots of windows, doors, roofs, textures, etc. We painted watercolor backgrounds to enhance the idea of space in the scene.
