Posting about these Impressionist Paintings is a bit belated, but better late than never right?
My 7th and 8th grade students created these at the end of first semester. Each student brought in a picture of an outdoor scene (either one they took here in Seoul or a picture from a family vacation). We used the grid technique to enlarge the images and draw them on canvas board. Next, I showed them a presentation about Impressionism and Post-Impressionism and demonstrated how to created different types of brushstrokes on their canvases. Then we went to town with acrylic paints.
The pictures aren’t the highest quality since I forgot to photograph them until they were hanging in a dark hallway, but the results turned out pretty spectacular!
