Sausage, Eggs, Biscuits and Gravy

Cooking something absurdly elaborate has become one of my new favorite weekend obsessions. I think it may be related to the fact that we have been out of town a lot of weekends lately so leisurely cooking at home is something I look forward to.
Last Sunday my absurdly elaborate meal was entirely from scratch due to the fact that all my favorite breakfast foods are just not very common here. And when I say “from scratch” I really mean it. I made my own buttermilk by combining vinegar and milk and regular ground pork became breakfast sausage with this recipe.

I also made buttermilk biscuits and sausage gravy using this recipe.

I finished the meal off by frying an egg and layering everything together for some creamy sausage goodness.



It was pretty intense and practically put us into a food coma which therefore made it the perfect Sunday morning breakfast!
